Byline: A multi-million dollar story
Although not as exciting or enjoyable as the Madame Tussaud's press conference in Hollywood, I found this story a valuable learning experience.
Writing about finance is never easy, especially when you start following the storyline after it's over. I combed pages of court documents, online dictionaries and press releases to understand what specifically the press release that tipped us off was even talking about.
I didn't leave my desk all day, but I'm proud to say I fought through the jargon for 14 inches of copy.
Read it here — "Glendale insurance company to pay $38 million in settlement"— or in the Contra-Costa Times.
Sadly, my work computer has no webcam, so you have no picture.
